This black sheath evening gown by Christian Dior is one of the most striking fashions in the new Paris collections, Sept. 6, 1955. It is narrowed to pencil slimness below the knees, accenting the top in the way of the French couture for fall and winter. The wide heart-shaped décolletage is slashed deeply in front. The high waistline is marked by wide satin band, which holds the long white satin sash "train." The full-length sleeves carry out the slender theme. The gown is named "Paris Evening." (AP Photo)
